The cause you choose is up to you
South Africa’s drought is hitting hard, and it is killing animals everywhere. Sustained hunger with little to no food or water and the continued breeding of animals for food, has been compounded by the relentless drought. All this is causing the sustained demise of thousands of animals.
You can directly help farmed animals by giving the gift of relief to supplement Boere Droogtehulp SA NPC’s resources in these extreme weather conditions. We will not let the animals suffer through this drought, and we will continue the fight to stop animal starvation across South Africa. Your support makes the world of difference today and in the long-term.
If you would like to assist fellow South African farmers in drought areas by donating some feed for their animals to keep their herds alive, we have a few ways you can make a donation today on this website.
They need you this year more than ever. You can help by contributing towards feeding a:
Sheep per month: | R1200 |
Cow per month: | R2000 |
Farm Dogs per month: | R780 |
Medical costs per animal per month: | R70 |
Sponsor or donate towards the education of a farmer’s child
The average increase for South African school fees in 2019 was:
State schools: | 8.2% |
School fees: | Between R16’000 and R22’000 per year |
Residence fees: | Between R25’800 and R30’000 per year |
Weekend fees: | R200 per weekend |
Standard school uniforms (such as gray trousers and black skirts with white shirts) can be purchased in the large retail clothing stores. If so, a school uniform will cost between R300 and R800.
However, many schools have very specific uniforms (which are only available by a handful of suppliers). If this is the case, a school blazer can cost almost R1000, bringing the total uniform cost (one set) to around R1500.
School uniform costs: | +/- R1000 per year |
Stationery costs: | +/- R600 per year |
School trips cost: | +/- R600 per year |
Extra-mural activities: | +/- R1500 per year |
Small extras: | +/- R500 per year |
This brings the cost of school and boarding school to around R247 per day – this, is a relatively conservative estimate.
Any amount donated towards feeding the animals will save a life, we thank you for your donation
